Contrary to popular belief, osteopaths do not just manipulate bones and backs – we treat the whole body. It is a system of hands on therapy that uses the body’s natural capacity for healing, rooted in the core medical sciences and based on the principle that healthy function is reliant on free movement of all structures and a balanced blood and nerve supply.

Treatment is given to the area that is painful and more generally in order to harmonise and integrate the whole body. A variety of techniques are used such as joint manipulation (useful in a number of presentations but not essential) , deep tissue massaged and rhythmic articulation.
